September 23, 2009 Imaginary Libraries: Works of David Gista Art ExhibitNSLS is proud to be hosting a David Gista art exhibit through October 2009. Mr. Gista’s renowned series of paintings explore the library’s role in contemporary society.
Recently, Sarah Long had a chance to speak with Mr. Gista about his background, influences, and current work. Listen to her podcast for the full interview. On Thursday, September 24, NSLS isĀ hosting an exhibit opening for library staff and trustees, their guests, and Chamber of Commerce members. Mr. Gista will be in attendance. We hope to see you there! posted by Christina at 9:40 am | Comments (0) September 9, 2009 Bin Converson UpdateNSLS has rolled out phase 2 of the bin conversion project. As of Tuesday, Sept. 8th, the public libraries on Route 3 began receiving their deliveries in the new bins. Alec, the primary driver on that route, has been assisted this week by Saul, who normally drives Route 4. With ten months of using the bins on his route, this will allow him to share his experience in handling the bins and keeping track of their usage. And, in riding along with Alec, Saul will gain some valuable cross-training on another route and with the larger truck. Both drivers have reported that the conversion has gone extremely well on this route, and every library involved in the change had their items in the bins on the first day. Our thanks to the staff members at these libraries in making this a smooth transition. posted by Don at 3:35 pm | Comments (0)
